Breakfast, lifts and customers

Well today has been interesting, back to work after my two days “off” and it felt so good to get back too.  Although not fully rested my batteries were recharged enough to shop, mind you only two days to go and heaven awaits.  Today was a day of helping with a lot of customer queries; it was surprising to finish when we did.  Mind you the situation was helped by the fact that the bosses rolled their sleeves up and did so work as well.  It is always refreshing to see the management at work!  Mind you the morning was tinged with a slight disappointment as my breakfast date cancelled on me, it was for a good cause but a chap never likes being blown out (typed with a smiley face).  Then there was the very scary ride in the lift after breakfast in the staff canteen.  On the way back to work I managed to catch the lift at the last moment scaring the two ladies waiting for the doors to close.  That has to be the shortest longest ride in a lift ever; I did not think I was going to get out of there alive!

I like helping people with their questions about shopping I get a real sense of satisfaction from it.  Twice today a customer asked where something was as they had their backs to the very item they were looking for.  On both occasions I cheekily pointed over their shoulder, smiled and said it is behind you.  I loved the reaction, always candid and funny.  It is magical to be candid and friendly to people you do not know and they respond in the same manner.  It makes my day to help and see that it is welcomed and appreciated.  My previous jobs have seen me at the end of a telephone or in a computer room that is secure and isolated from the world around you.  The only people allowed in are nerds like yourself and they are not much company lol.  I work with an amazing group of people and the customers who come in to the shop are brilliant too, job satisfaction, 100%.

Well I am going to leave it there for today as I have to give my photography blog some tender loving care.

Until the next time take care.

Si x
