Pause

Ok so sleep avoided paying me a visit again but to be honest it was not that important as halfway though the night I was feeling like poo anyway.  Whatever manlike flu thing has been going around work has finally caught up with me, well more like snuck up from behind.  Although tired I was feeling ok for most of the day but as the evening wore on I started to feel worse.  So it is 1:30am in the morning, I am wide awake, feeling crap and exhausted all at the same time.  Who said we men couldn’t multitask, we are certainly good at doing a lot of wrong things at the same time?

Earlier on in the evening I sat and watched a group of kids hanging around at the back of the flats on the path that runs by the flats.  They could not have been older than 12 or 13 and it was five to midnight.  The parents, did they care, were they worried, were they even aware that their little darlings were out?  It beggars belief that is for sure; well it does in my book.  Hanging around, reading and sending texts and larking about on a poorly lit pathway.

It is no good I am going to have to take a sleeping pill otherwise it will be two days without sleep and with this man flu poking around that is not going to be a good idea.  So I will put this post on pause for now and resume it when I can.

PAUSE………………………………………………………………………………………………!

The above was written Thursday evening come early Friday morning.  Friday was a wash out as I spent a lot of it in bed with the exception of a short period when the latest viewer of the flat was due to visit.  It was a no show but at least I have a very clean and shiny flat as a result.  I at least got to catch up with Arthur Dent every now and then.

Saturday was not much better but I had to go out and do some shopping otherwise this chap would not have anything to eat for the week.  Shopping at Sainsbury’s I hear you ask, nope, this chap is watching the pennies so it was of to Aldi for the weeks shopping.  The weekly shopping bill £55 pounds compared to the other supermarkets that ranged from £75 to £95 for the same shop and that is with the staff discount included!

Mind you I did manage to make one meal last three days last week and the total cost was a little under £10 so that is not bad going.  Ok it is not to bad going if you do not mind eating the same thing three days running with a slight twist each day.  Still this chap swears by the fact that anything cooked tastes better the day after if handled correctly and reheated or not in the proper manner.

Saturday has also been about applying for jobs both at Sainsbury’s and elsewhere.  I have been trying to apply for the position of GOL driver at Sainsbury’s but sadly the website keeps crashing every time I click on the submit button.  I have also applied for a number of store assistant positions in other stores as they are offering more money and longer hours, something I am searching for.  I’d like to stay as an online shopper but sadly that is not possible as I cannot find anything to fit in alongside it.

I have also spent the last few days thinking about my photography, the projects I have and where I want to go with it.  Naturally I do not want to give it up as it is such an important part of my life but I think like everything else I need to simplify it more than I have.  I need to focus my efforts on one or two projects rather than having the distraction of the possibility of many.

I have decided to pair down my equipment down to the things that only necessary to focus on the projects I have chosen.  These are going to be church photography, street photography, keeping it simple project and location photography.  For me that means the following:

·      Full frame DSLR (already have one)
·      Full frame lens range from 12mm to 105mm range (almost there need to sell to achieve)
·      Tripod (got one of those so ok there)

It is time to focus and spend some time focusing on a small number of projects as I am a wash with ideas thanks to the kit I currently have but no direction.  I am actually thinking of jumping ship away from Sony but that would mean a big pause in my photography and I am not sure it is worth it as I would have to sell everything to move on and I don’t like that idea.

I am also considering moving this blog from Blogger to Wordpress and have spent some time investigating the transfer.  Unlike previous blogs this one is here to stay so I need to put it on a solid footing for sure.

Well lots to consider and plan for.

Until next time take care.
